Cling, cling, cling…the sound of a spoon hitting the inside of my grandfather’s coffee cup before the sun was up. These were my first memories of pure excitement, followed by stopping at the Tom Thumb to fuel up, then heading off to the bait shop for ballyhoo, squid, and some mullet.

I grew up in Key Largo, where I spent much of my childhood on the local waters. I graduated from Coral Shores High School in Islamorada in 1994. Life called and I found myself in the hospitality field, helping guests make memories, but I felt a void in my life.
