Fishing in Key Largo the Reef is on Fire!

Hello From Key Largo!

Well, as promised, the reef bite is on fire! The full moon brought plenty of yummy snapper aboard and continue to fill the cooler.  Mutton Snapper have been spawning and this will continue over the next month. The Mangrove Snapper are schooling and the prime time will be the full moon in June and July. Massive schools of these aggressive and tasty fighters will form. Chumming and a mix bag of fresh dead and live baits will get you a limit. We often see friendlier fish in the evenings.

Snook season has closed but the catch and release action has been great in the back-country. Large pilchards on a 4/0 circle hook paired with 40lb leader should do the trick.

We continue to see some nice trout being taken in the early mornings and late afternoons off of Key Largo fishing and in the Everglades Park. A popping cork and live bait seems impossible for them to resist.
If you enjoy fishing, this is the time of year to make a trip to Key Largo. Give us a call and reserve your trip!
