Pretty good week to be fishing in the fabulous Florida Keys and Key Largo!

Well it's been a pretty good week to be fishing in the fabulous Florida Keys and Key Largo! We had our so called "cold front" which to temperatures dropping all the way to 68 degrees! WOW! It was intense LOL.
This slight temperature change and the full moon did lead to some intense evening activities. The fast moving water and high winds got the bays stirred up and the shrimp running. We got out and caught about 400 nice size shrimp just before Christmas. Shrimp gumbo, shrimp scampy, shrimp on a stick, fried shrimp.... Lol yea it was good, but more important this lead to the awesome bite we experience. The tarpon showed up in late December! We had multiple fish at boat side for quick pics and then safely released. The Snook bite was out of control. We had best luck on larger live baits swimming naturally in the current with fish measuring to 33 inches. The mangrove snappers started out slow but came on strong shortly after the moon rise. We had fish up to 5 pounds.
Finding good live bait is the key to the better fish, put in some time to locate fresh bait and get in on the action.
